Ultramag has successfully passed our first renewal audit to ISO 14001, which was held remotely. There were no Recommendations.

Having invested time and money towards this Environmental Standard for several years, as a Company we are committed to maintaining the processes and practices necessary to keep the Approval.

This year we will concentrate on the training of personnel and ensure they are all aware of their duties, as well as the Company’s.

Another successful U.K.A.S. audit to ISO 17020, passed in May 2020. Under our U.K.A.S. Accreditation, as an Inspection Body Ultramag carries out Welding Procedure Qualification and Welder Qualification Tests.

For Welder Qualification Tests following welding surveillance, we carry out Fracture, Macro and Bend Testing at our Rushington facility, assuring a quick turnaround.

Ultramag are awaiting a site audit for accreditation to ISO 17025 for it’s mechanical testing services. Having this accreditation will allow a much quicker turn around for mechanical testing results.

The Company has invested heavily in equipment and training to meet the requirements of ISO 17025.

Our Apprentices are well into their Non-Destructive projects following the B.I.N.D.T. Engineering Technician Standards apprenticeship.

We aim to take on at least one further apprentice through 2021 who will follow a mechanical testing apprenticeship.

Ultramag have successfully passed the ISO 14001 audit, with no Recommendations. We have been working towards this for several years are delighted to have achieved our goal.

In September we were successful with our re-approval by Bureau Veritas for performing Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement surveys to their vessels and marine structures.

Over the next 12 months we shall be investing in several Advanced N.D.T. techniques; with Computed Radiographic Testing (C.R.T.) already being used by our radiographers.

Ultramag have joined forces with Rapid Welding to support their new Welding Warrior competition, donating a prize fund of £60 worth of M&S vouchers.
