Radiographic Testing and C.R.T.
The radiographic testing technique involves the use of penetrating gamma or X-radiation to examine parts, welds and products for imperfections.
An X-ray machine or radioactive isotope are used as a source of radiation, where the radiation is directed through a part and onto film. The film is either wet processed or digitally processed and an evaluation made of the resulting image.
Our experienced radiographic inspection team have received professional training and are monitored throughout their time with the company, they are all Level 2 Inspectors qualified to PCN, BGas, SNT, NAS 410 and/or EN 4179.
On site radiographic testing is also undertaken but we need a minimum of 7 days notice for a site visit, where an initial risk assessment must be carried out prior to the commencement of the job. These jobs require up to 3 operators on site to insure we conform to HSE requirements.
We perform radiographic testing on:

- Pressure vessels
- Aircraft structures
- Defence products
- Forgings and castings
- Sub-sea structures
- Pharmaceutical products
